Each of the staff members at Gordon Funeral Service & Crematory, Inc. is committed to providing your family with the finest in personal care. In fact, for years, it’s been comforting for area families to know that we are available to help at any time of the day or night.

When a loved one dies, all you need to do is make one phone call. From that moment on, we’ll take on the responsibilities of the physical care of your loved one, and the emotional care of those left behind.

Johnny is a native of Union County, a graduate of the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, Past President of the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association, Member of the National Funeral Directors Association.  Member of the Bethlehem Presbyterian Church and the Monroe Rotary Club, A Paul Harris Fellow.
He is married to Carolyn Simpson Gordon and they are the parents of 3 Daughters and grandparents of 3 grandchildren.
He formally served on the board of the Fairview Vol. Fire Department.
Johnny has faithfully served the families of Union and Cabarrus Counties for 53 years.

Freddie B. Gordon

Freddie is dedicated to the funeral profession and has been a licensed funeral director for over 30 years and a member of the N. C. and National Funeral Directors Associations.

Freddie is a lifelong resident of Monroe and Union County.  He is married to Anna Williams Gordon and has one daughter, Merrill Gordon Sawyer, who is married to Jeffrey Sawyer. Freddie and Anna are proud grandparents of Ava Kate Sawyer.  

Freddie is a graduate of Campbell University, a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Monroe, where he has served on the Vestry.  He is a former member and Past President of the Monroe Kiwanis Club; and past member and President of the Board of Directors of Turning Point, a shelter for women and children who suffer from domestic violence. He currently serves on the Monroe City Council.

Linda Gordon Sims is a lifelong resident of Monroe and Union County, NC. She has served as Secretary/Treasurer of Gordon Funeral Service & Crematory for over 30 years.

She is a member of First Baptist Church, Monroe, NC. She enjoys spending time with her husband, David; their son, Brian and his wife, Natisha. In her leisure time, she enjoys shopping and spending time at her second home in Cherry Grove, SC.

Kelly Byrd is a resident of Union County, NC. He holds an associates degree in computer science and is a graduate of Kings College Business College, Class of 1997, and holds an associate degree from Gupton-Jones College of Mortuary Science, Class of 2001, where he also served as Chaplain in the Theta Chapter of Pi Sigma ETA Fraternity.  
Kelly has been on staff with Gordon Funeral Service since March of 2001 and National and State licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer, licensed Preneed Insurance Consultant, and a Certified Crematory Operator.
Devoted to his profession and community, he is a member of National Funeral Directors Association, the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association, and he serves on the NCFDA Education Committee, he was also appointed to serve on the North Carolina Board of Funeral Service, and serves on a committee with The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Board.
He enjoys traveling, singing, and spending time with his wife Julie, daughter Kiersten, and family. He counts it an honor to serve the community of Union County, and be on staff with Gordon Funeral Service & Crematory.

Harold E. Williams, National & State Board Certified Funeral Director and Embalmer

Harold E. Williams, National & State Board Certified Funeral Director and Embalmer

Harold is a native of Anson County, NC and a long time resident of Mecklenburg and Union County. He is a graduate of Marshville High School and Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, class of 1965 and National Foundation of Funeral Service School of Management, Evanston, Illinois.

He has been in the funeral service industry for 52 years, the past 8 with Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory.

He is an active member of Marshville United Methodist Church, where he sings in the Chancel Choir, is a member of United Methodist Men and serves on the Board of Trustees.  He enjoys spending time with his family; wife, Ann; children Mary Anna Efird and husband, Marty, who have three children, Callie, Julian, and Mamie; and son Jason Williams and wife, Heather, who have two daughters, Miah & Anna.  He is also a member of East Gate Masonic Lodge #692 AF & AM. and currently serves on the Board of Union County Residential Services.
